This area is renowned for its beautiful coastal landscapes and scenery and we have all of the West Cork countryside at our fingertips also with native woodlands, rivers and streams and waterfalls plus large expanses of agricultural land and rustic buildings. After pick up from Cork Airport or train station where necessary, we will travel to Clonakilty and check into our hotel. We hope to have an evening session of photography before getting to know one another over a good dinner.

Days 2, 3 and 4:

Mike prefers not to have a rigid itinerary for these days except to make the most of the weather conditions available. Mike will make a call each evening of what we will do for the following day. Some days will involve a pre breakfast shoot to get the early morning light and then we would take a break during the day before an evening shoot. On other days we will be out an about for the full day if the weather is more suitable. You will get loads of photographic opportunities during these days but we will not physically kill you either! We will try to give you a chance to look around Clonakilty and other local towns and villages we visit during the holiday. We will also find some time during these days and evenings to look at digital processing using Photoshop and look at images from participants who wish to get critique and appraisal on their previous work.

Day 5:

Hopefully we will have time for an early morning shoot before breakfast before packing up to go back to Cork airport or other travel hubs.

Mike discovered photography in his mid twenties and immediately started making images of the local wildlife and landscape. In 1992 he began a full-time career as a professional photographer. While Mike has worked in many areas of photography and still covers many varied commercial assignments, his passion is still to photograph the natural world.
