Mike Brown - The Photographer

Mike Brown was born in Yorkshire, England in 1960 but moved with his family to the village of Courtmacsherry in West Cork in 1974. Having always had an interest in nature and the outdoors he was immediately at home in this environment.

Mike discovered photography in his mid twenties and immediately started making images of the local wildlife and landscape. In 1992 he began a full-time career as a professional photographer. While Mike has worked in many areas of photography and still covers many varied commercial assignments, his passion is still to photograph the natural world.

Books of Photography by Mike Brown

Mike has published three books of Irish Nature and Irish Wildlife and Irish Landscape photography.

His first book, the highly acclaimed "Ireland's Wildlife - A Photographic Essay" was published in 2002. This was followed, to equal acclaim, by "Images of Irish Nature" in 2006.

His latest book, "Wild Water, Wild Light - Images of the West Cork Coastline" was published in late 2009.
