A beautiful collection of over 130 stunning photographic images by acclaimed West Cork photographer Mike Brown.
Having published his first book “Ireland’s Wildlife – A Photographic Essay” to major critical acclaim in October 2002, Mike followed this up by creating a new set of images. In this second book, Mike explores some different styles of wildlife image with “movement” being a key. Some more abstract images appear in this collection also along with many new subjects.

The Foreword for the book is written by the late Eamon de Buitlear, Ireland’s legendary and best known wildlife filmmaker.

Images of Irish Nature also contains six wonderful text essays which have been written specially for this book by writers who are all well known for their involvement with nature and natural history in Ireland. They are:
Juanita Browne – Former editor of “Wild Ireland” magazine and author of “Ireland’s Mammals”
Dr Richard Collins – Columnist in the Irish Examiner and former secretary of Birdwatch Ireland. An experienced broadcaster and panelist on “Mooney goes wild” on RTE radio1
Gordon D’Arcy – Writer, Artist and Environmentalist and author of “Ireland’s Lost Birds” and “The Natural History of the Burren” and many more books.
Damien Enright – Columnist in the Irish Examiner, broadcaster and author of “A Place Near Heaven”
Michael Viney – Nature columnist of the Irish Times and author “Ireland, A Smithsonian Natural History” and “A Year’s Turning”.
Padraig Whooley – Secretary of the Irish Whale and Dolphin group, Padraig has published many papers on whales and Dolphins in Irish waters.
